Introduction to Emotionology

What is Emotionology™?

Emotionology brings together the science of emotions from multiple disciplines and sources and is much more than emotions by themselves. Emotionology explains how our emotions are interconnected to our thoughts and drive our behavior and how we relate to the world around us. By understanding how these connections work, we can change our thinking, change our behavior and change how we relate to the world. We no longer have to be tolerating life.  With Emotionology, we have the tools to get unstuck and to create the life we desire.  Emotionology uses four models to explain these interconnections between our emotions, thoughts, behaviors and how we relate to the world.  Understanding how these connections work allows us to change our lives for the better.

The Thinking Model and the Biochemical Model are based on scientific research.  The thinking model teaches us how our emotional triggers are created and thereby how to change them and even get rid of them.  The Biochemical Model explains how the things we call “feelings” (I feel lonely, confused, stuck, etc.) are literally the chemistry whereby our brain and body maintain a constant two-way communication.  The chemistry of our thinking affects every cell in our body and the more we evoke a particular chemistry the stronger the communication system between brain and body becomes for that specific chemistry.  If that chemistry is in the family of stress then our bodies eventually break down.

The Systems Model teaches that the meaning and judgments we give our emotions come from the cultures and rules we have been exposed to in our life. When the rules no longer make sense, neither will our emotions.  The model teaches us how to re-examine the rules, eliminate what doesn’t work and choose what does work.  The last model, the Generative Model, teaches us how we manifest or generate what we get out of life from our emotions.

Taken as a whole these models support over 100 techniques that allow individuals to understand their emotions, take control of their actions, and create their dreams. With the knowledge and techniques of Emotionology we can now change the thoughts and behaviors that prevent us from experiencing a vibrant and healthy life.
